Willhelm Heinrich Schoch (1854-1912) purchases the Bookbinding and Writing Materials Shop


Death of W.H. Schoch. Willy and Walter Schoch take over. They now also offer office machines and furniture.


Due to the world economic crisis the production facilities have to be sold. Willy Schoch leaves the company and the third brother, Edwin, joins


Acquisition of the first delivery vehicle. Mail orders for Office material take a first step.


Urs and Nina Schoch join the company. Refurbishment of the store. Large expansion of turnover and staff numbers. 


Construction of the distribution center in Ohringen. Jan Schoch joins.


Relocation of the furniture department to the “Werkhaus”, the old Halle 39 of the Sulzer production site.

Development of the new business segment Space and Construction Management


Urs & Nina Schoch define their succession. They divide Büro Schoch AG into three companies.

  • Büro Schoch direct AG, lead by Thomas Schoch

2006 – Expansion of the Werkhaus

Schoch extends Werkhaus by 250 m2. A new exhibition space is created in the extension, the Spickel. The company has become a total provider and offers services in

2007 – Schoch 125 year anniversary


The tradition-rich Schoch group celebrates its 125th anniversary. Schoch Group has become the largest employer in its line of business with 13 apprentices and 135 employees. The anniversary is celebrated with various events and a public exhibition at Winterthur’s Museum of Applied Arts and Design.

2009 – a new corporate image

Schoch Werkaus renames itself «Schoch Werkhaus Switzerland». Rebranding became a necessity as a consequence of Schoch’s continued development from classical provider of office furniture to total provider. The term «Switzerland» was added as a clear signal of commitment to the Swiss market and thus to quality and fair prices.


2012 – launch of LED luminaires

Modern LED technology, uncompromising design, practical touch panel: Schoch Werkhaus’s inhouse development sets new standards in variable LED lighting

2012 launch of a coat rack

„Reduce to the max“ is the creative creed: three hooks, with or without umbrella ring, pivotable head. With its simple design the rack integrates unobtrusively with any office space or in your home.

2013 – we move

Standstill? not for us! And that’s why our logistics and warehousing facilities move to a strategically sited location in Effretikon. Bright and modern warehouses with direct highway access make for even better services to our customers.

2013 – we are expanding

Schoch Werkhaus goes East! From July 1, 2013 we have acquired the established St. Gall company Büroplan Gossweiler GmbH

2014 - launch of my-chair

Launch of my-chair, a chair of puristic design and straightforward functional simplicity

2015 -  JSL LED luminaires a succes

By mid-2015 we have already brought 3333 JSL LED luminaires to market.

20 years Schoch Werkhaus AG – changing office worlds

With moving into Halle 39, in 1997 Schoch Werkaus AG inaugurated a new era on the old Sulzer site. This year the company celebrates its 20th anniversary in the former Sulzer hall

and proudly looks back on the successful development of the area Town Center and its own. Looking ahead, it is evident that the company is optimally equipped to successfully deal with the challenges facing an SME.
